Select the issue you are experiencing below to find the fastest solution.
Issue 1: "The portrait doesn't look like my pet"
The most common cause is the angle or lighting of the original photo.
The Solution: Retry with a New Photo Do not try to "edit" a bad likeness. Instead, recreate it.
Create a Free Account: Visit fable.surrealium.world/signup to receive 2 free credits.
Upload a Different Photo: Choose a photo where your pet is facing the camera directly with good lighting.
Result: 90% of likeness issues are solved by changing the input photo.
Issue 2: "Wrong Gender, Color, or Style"
Use this if the likeness is good, but the "vibe" or details are wrong (e.g., "Make it masculine" or "Change cape color").
Method A: The Retry Feature (Broad Changes) Best for changing gender or overall style.
On the Result page, click the Retry Icon (round arrow).
-
Options:
Make Masculine: Shifts to masculine colors/jewelry.
Make Feminine: Shifts to feminine colors/jewelry.
Describe Changes: Type commands like "Replace collar with Renaissance jewelry" or "Remove cape."
Cost: 1 Credit per regeneration.
Method B: The Precision Editor (Specific Details) Best for fixing small areas like eyes, background, or artifacts. Requires Starter or Studio Pack.
Go to Menu → My Masterpieces and click the Brush Icon.
-
Best Practices for Editing:
Be Specific: Don't say "fix it." Say "Brighten the background."
One Change at a Time: Make single adjustments per prompt.
Iterate: Apply small refinements (Cost: ~0.33 credits per edit).

If you are struggling with the tools above.

Toggle "Show all variants" (upper right corner).
-
This reveals every version, edit, and retry you have ever created.
Note: Images created as a guest (without logging in) are not saved.
Issue 5: "AI is missing one of my pets"
Common in multi-pet portraits.
The Cause:
Pets were too far apart in the background.
One pet was partially hidden or in shadow.
The Solution: Upload a new photo where all pets are front and center, equally well-lit, and facing the camera. The AI cannot "guess" a pet that is obscured in shadow.
Issue 6: "Image resolution is low" or "Not 4K"
If your downloaded file looks blurry or isn't high enough quality for a large print.
Method A: Check your Download Source (Self-Service) Often, customers accidentally download the "Social Media" version instead of the print file.
Open your Order Confirmation Email and click the link to view your order.
-
You will see two options:
Download for Mobile & Social (Smaller file, easy to share).
Download for Print (Largest file, 300 DPI, 4K resolution).
Action: Choose "Download for Print" to get the highest quality master file.
Method B: Request an Upscale (Concierge) If you need an even larger file or can't find the link:
Action: Chat with Charles at fable.surrealium.world/support.
What to do: Select the preset "Upscale to 4K" or type "I want my download in higher resolution."
Result: Charles will process the ultra-HD file and email it to you instantly.
Issue 7: Creative Edits (Darkness, Backgrounds, Jewelry & Style)
Use this if you want to change specific details but keep the pet's face as is.
Common Requests:
"The image is too dark."
"I want to change the cape color."
"Remove the jewelry."
"The image looks too realistic/not painted enough."
Method A: The Precision Editor (Self-Service) Best for removing items or changing colors on a specific part of the image.
Go to Menu → My Masterpieces and click the Brush Icon.
Select Simple Mode (available in Starter Pack).
Paint over the jewelry, cape, or background you want to change.
Prompt: Type a clear command like "Remove jewelry," "Change cape to blue," or "Add clearer brushstrokes."
Method B: Retry with Description (Broad Changes) Best for fixing lighting (too dark) or overall artistic style.
On the result page, click the Retry Icon (round arrow).
For Dark Images: Upload a new photo with better lighting (front-facing daylight is best).
For Style Changes: In the "Describe changes" box, type: "Make lighting brighter," "Make style more painterly," or "Remove jewelry."
Method C: Ask Charles (Concierge) If you are struggling to get the prompt right.
